Betsy Snow has been in the educational field for twenty years. She is lifetime certified in Louisiana and holds a Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech University and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Centenary College. She is certified in the areas of Kindergarten, Supervision of Student Teaching, and Gifted/Talented. Mrs. Snow is currently seeking to gain Education Leadership 1 certification.
Mrs. Snow is presently the elementary Gateway teacher for Herndon Magnet School where she serves gifted students in grades two through five. Training and being involved with Leader in Me Schools is also a current passion.
In 2015-2016, Betsy served as the instructor of a high school course called Introduction to Teaching Professions offered through the Caddo Career & Technology Center. The course provided insight and field experiences to high school students interested in exploring a career in education and to advocate for the profession. Other experiences include ten years of success as a first grade teacher, serving as a guest lecturer at Mc Neese State University, and nine years of teaching gifted learners in grades K-3rd.
Mrs. Snow is the 2009 Eden Gardens Magnet School Teacher of the Year and 2009 Caddo Parish Teacher of the Year Finalist. She is an active member of the National Association of Gifted Children, Educators Rising, National Reading Association, and Louisiana Reading Association.
